Good drivers of the ball never take a divot with a driver. If you are striking the ball correctly, you will be sweeping the ball off a tee. Never hit down with a driver and take a divot.

Take your stance with feet shoulder width apart. Play the ball forward in your stance. Relax your arms and grip. Take the club back low and slow using shoulders and arms as a unit.

Driver - This is typically the golf club that is used for the longest distance from the tee. It has little loft, but can "drive" the golf ball a long distance.
Eagle - A score on the golf hole that is two less than Par.

DRIVER + PROPER STANCE = BETTER DRIVES
What I'm about to tell you regarding the stance for hitting your driver is going to feel much different than what you're used to with your iron shots. Don't let this bother you.

In driver shots, an excessive amount of spin will cause the ball to soar, resulting in a loss of distance. Too little spin will prevent lift and reduce carry.

- Your driver will be your best gauge on which flex you need. Not 100% accurate but the best club to use for this purpose.

Hitting your driver off the fairway often helps on long par4's with an open green. Remember to choke down on the club about an inch-and-a-half and move the ball back in your stance. Swing a little shorter and easier.

The shaft of the driver reaches a near horizontal position simply because of the additional wrist action that occurs naturally with the longer clubs. The shorter distance shots are naturally more "firm wristed".
