Fairway Bunker
Play ball in the middle of the stance to insure you hit the ball first. Dig your feet in for stability. Your stance can be square or slightly open. Your number one goal is to get out of the bunker.

Fairway Bunker Shot
When taking on this shot be sure the club you are using has sufficient loft to get the ball over the front lip of the bunker.

Fairway Bunker : A sand or deep grass hazard situated in, or adjacent to, the fairway.
Fairway Wood : A wood other than the driver, or 1 wood.
Fan : Missing the ball completely when trying to make contact.

While in a fairway trap, dig your feet in by twisting them into the sand. Then, let your knees pinch toward each other so the majority of your weight is over the inside of your feet.

Long Sand Shot
Fairway bunkers are a nemesis to most golfers.
The key here is to take as long a club as possible that will get over the lip of the bunker or sand trap.

Fairway bunkers are designed primarily to gather up wayward tee shots on par 4 and par 5 holes; they are located to the sides of the fairway or even in the middle of the fairway.

If in a fairway bunker, same advice is sometimes good. Choose enough loft on club to clear the lip of the bunker and hit the ball and try for shallow divot and follow through.

You can even diagram each hole for your player, with distances to the green from certain landmarks like bushes or fairway bunkers. Draw a separate picture of the green and its slope tendencies.
