Flange: The base of a club, the part that rests on the ground.
Flex: The degree that a club's shaft bends upon impact with the ball.
Flex Point: That part of a club's shaft which bends the most.

Flange: The base of a club, the part that rests on the ground and projects back from the leading edge.
Flash-Faced Bunker: High-lipped bunkers where the sand extends very high up the sides. Usually requires more maintenance than other bunkers.

Flange: Projecting piece of clubhead behind the sole (bottom).
Flat: Swing that is less upright than normal and more around the body than up and down.
Flub: To hit the ball only a few feet.

Flange: A portion of the sole of a club such as a sand wedge or putter. (The wedge's wide flange made it an effective club from the deep, powdery sand).

Flange : The bottom of an iron club (usually most associated with the sand wedge). Example: The sand wedge's flange allows the depth of the club head's penetration into the sand to be more controlled.

Flange
The part of the club head protruding rearward from the head. Mainly a term used when discussing putters, a "flange" is the part of the putter from behind the face to the very back of the head.

flange: Bottom rounded part of sandwedge offering extra weight.
flat: Term used to describe a position less upright than standard E.g. flat arm plane, swing plane.
flex: The potential bend in the club shaft.

The sand wedge has a flange or "bounce" at the bottom of the club. In dry sand this helps the club slide through the sand and not dig in.

Your putter, or even an iron, has too thin of a flange on the bottom of the club which allows the blade to grab, throwing the momentum and direction of the club off your target. Think about how hard you hit a 15 foot putt. Not very.

A high lofted club with a flange (bottom of the club) which is lower than the leading edge, allowing the club to move through the sand easily. This design feature is called bounce.

It is an extremely lofted club with a wide flange that bounces the club head through the sand.
Shank - A miss hit in which the golf ball is struck by the hostel of the club.

Extremely lofted club, also known as a "sand iron" with a wide flange designed for playing from bunkers . US player Gene Sarazen is credited with its invention.
