Flight and Roll
From one spot in the fairway, hit to the identical landing spot on the green with different clubs. It is the only way to learn what each club will do for you. See the different combinations of flight and roll each club will give you.

 


Experiment with different ball positions -- move it up in your stance, then back -- and note how those changes influence the flight and roll of your chips. Then vary the openness of your stance and see what that does.

Direction is the final component, but often the only one we consider. When deciding where to aim, select an area that sets up a comfortable follow-up shot. Again, envision ball flight and roll, picking a realistic target.
