High Side: The side of the hole that a putt breaks from. (He missed the putt on the high side of the hole).
Hitter: A player who favors a forceful, aggressive style of swing. (Arnold Palmer has been a hitter of the ball throughout his career).

4 and 8 O'clock Putts -- Putts "within the leather" (about two feet) almost never have enough break from contour and green speed to cause the golfer much concern about the pace or line of the putt -- just knock it in, perhaps favoring the high side ...

When you barely miss the green and end up in light rough on the high side of the hole, don't assume the putt or lob shot are your only choices. Another option is a shot that's more likely to lend a desirable result.

high side: Also pro-side; the area above the hole for a curving putt.
hole: The area from the tee to the flagstick, also the the small cylinder (4 1/4 inches) housed in the green in which you putt the ball into.

handicap: For example, one whose handicap is 16 is expected to shoot 88 on a par 72 course, or 16 strokes over par.
high side: Area above the hole on a sloping green.
home green: The green on the 18th hole.
hustler: A golfer who plays for a living.
