HOLE OUT - the process of a player completing the hole.
HONOR - the privilege of hitting first on the next tee. The "honor" is gained by having the lowest score on the preceding hole.

A slang term referring to the putting green or fairway.

ACE: A hole-in-one.
AWAY: When you're away, it's your turn to play, usually because your ball is farthest from the hole.
BIRDIE: A score of one stroke under par on a single hole.
BOGEY: A score of one stroke over par on a single hole.

ACE - hole-in-one; a shot from the tee ending up in the cup in one stroke. Eagle on par 3.

ADDRESS - golfer's body and golf club in position to play a stroke; different from grounding the golf club.

ace A hole-in-one is a score of one on a par-3 hole.
address A player's position prior to hitting a shot. According to the USGA Rules of Golf, a player has addressed the ball when she has taken her stance and grounded her club.

Albatross: (also called a "double eagle") a score of 3 under (less than) par for a hole. For example, when a player makes a 2 on a par-5 hole.
All square: In match play competition, "all square" means the match is tied.

1953 - Tommy Armour's "How to Play Your Best Golf All the Time" is published and becomes the first golf book ever to hit the best-seller lists.

In a few cases a golfer may hit the ball into the hole from the teeing ground. This is called a hole-in-one.
So if you finish a round of golf on par you can think of yourself as a very good player.

A hole-in-one on a par 5 for example. Confusion A game in which a point is awarded to the first player of the group to get to the green, one for the players closest to the pin and one for the first player to hole out.

The Rules of Golf do not address the issue of the validity of a hole-in-one. It is up to the Committee to determine whether a hole-in-one is valid. The USGA recommends that a hole-in-one be considered valid: ...

The only way to make a golf albatross on a par 4 is to make a hole-in-one, and these scores are only reserved for the longest hitters of the golf ball because that’s the only chance.

Condor
A four-under par shot, a hole-in-one on a par 5 . Might also be called "a triple eagle".
Course
A designated area of land on which golf is played through a normal succession from hole #1 to the last hole.

Also known as an 'ace'. A 'hole-in-one' is registered when the ball enters the hole direct from the tee shot.
Honor
To play first off the tee, the privilege of the winner of the preceding hole.

There should also be signs at each tee paid for by identified contributors. A major prize, such as an automobile, can be offered for a hole-in-one. A contributing automobile dealer can buy hole-in-one insurance to minimize its risk.

A slang expression for a hole-in-one.
ADDRESS
The player's position while preparing to play a shot .

That means taking only two shots on a par five hole or getting a hole-in-one on a par four. Very few golfers have had an albatross. It took Greg Norman 36 years to get his. In America they call an albatross a double eagle.

hole-in-one: As ace; The ultimate achievement. This is when a players tee shot goes straight into the hole.
hole out: To complete play on a given hole.
home green: The last green on the course.

Triple eagle - A four-under par shot or a hole-in-one on a par 5
Trouble shot - A shot with a bad lie in the rough, bunker or behind a tree
Turn - completing the ninth hole and heading for the tenth hole starting the back 9 ...
