This is the line a golfer anticipates their ball to go after it has been hit.

intended line-- The intened path of a golf ball.
iron-- A type of golf club with a head made from metal, or a composite material. Typically numbered from 1-9. Other club types are Woods (or metals), wedges and putters.

Intended Line: The line you think the ball will travel after you hit it.

intended line The expected line of ball trajectory.

Intended Line: The path on which you imagine the ball flying from club to target.

Intended Line of Flight: The direction a player plans for his ball to begin after impact. (Because she planned to hit a hook from the tee, her intended line of flight was at the righthand fairway bunker).

The intended line is the target line you want your ball to follow. What I like to do is get behind the ball and see what kind of break I have.

Except with respect to Rule 16-1e, the line of putt includes a reasonable distance on either side of the intended line. The line of putt does not extend beyond the hole.

The shaft of the driver should now be horizontal to the ground, and parallel with the intended line of flight. I said, about horizontal". With the fairway woods and the irons the shaft will not have gone back quite as far.

Position yourself so your eyes are over the intended line of the putt (ball line). To do this, hold your putter loosely and directly under your eyes as you address the putt and let gravity take it straight down.

Align the lettering on the ball, so it points down your intended line. (If it's good enough for TIGER WOODS, then why not for you or me!) This will make sure the putter and your body are properly aimed to the hole or the intended line of flight.

By being stationed (not necessarily rigid), you both see the line better and swing the putter on the intended line more effectively. To practice this, try what I'm doing here. Grab a basketball and place it between your knees.

Moveable objects can also be moved, if they are on the intended line. (Tiger Woods had 6 men shift a boulder that was deemed a moveable !).
A rake is probably what you will come across most often.

This drill is designed to help you hit your chips on the intended line every time. Take two clubs and make a narrow track . Turn the clubheads on the ground outwards. Use a 7 or 8 iron to chip.

The 'line of putt'' is the line that the player wishes his ball to take after a stroke on the putting green. Except with respect to Rule 16-1e, the line of putt includes a reasonable distance on either side of the intended line.

For a left-handed player, this is reversed. The hook is different from the pull, which is a stroke (often perfectly struck) in the wrong direction that travels straight or curves to the left of the intended line.
