Linksman: A golfer. Lip: The edge (or rim) of the hole. Lip Out: A ball as it is rolling on a putting green, that hits the edge of the hole and does not go in.
Linksman: A golfer. Lip: The edge of the hole. Lob Shot: A shot where the ball flies to maximum height and minimal distance, normally used to hit the ball from close range when trying to avoid an obstacle.
Linksman A golfer. Lip The top rim of the hole or cup. Lob Shot A shot that goes straight up and comes almost straight down with very little spin or forward momentum. Useful when there is not much green to play to.
