Nines

Test yourself, by playing (4) separate nines of golf, and then sit down and analyze your results.
The questions you must ask are as follows:
Is my distance advantage, really an advantage or a liability?

I'm going to take the time to write to all of the top golf teachers (or as many as possible before the back nines of Tiger's and Lorena's bids to win their respective tournaments from 5 shots back) to ask this question.

The 'degree of difficulty' is a relative term, as the Club Committee is requested to observe a number of recommendations when setting the stroke index - such as 'balancing' the numbers between the two 'nines' of an 18-hole course.

There are no free practice nines, no free range balls. You get what you pay for, making it important that you play your best to get your money's worth. So, let's look at few quick ways to help you get your game back on track.

1934 - The first Masters is played. Horton Smith is the first champion. In this inaugural event, the present-day back and front nines were reversed.
1935 - Glynna Collett Vare wins the U.S. Women's Amateur a record sixth time.

What they mean is fairly self-evident. "Out" and "in" on the scorecard refer to the golfer's front and back nines, respectively.

Wanaka is above the town of the same name, overlooking a large lake under the jagged peaks of the Southern Alps. This picturesque course has a striking contrast between the back and front nines.
