Open Face When (in relation to the target line) the clubface is angled away from the player's body, ie angled right for right-handed players.
Open Face = Low spinner Closed Face = Runner b.) The released runner is a shot to hit when you have a lot of green to work with. Instead of hitting a shot with a lot of spin, this one runs out so the ball rolls up to the pin.
Open Face: Clubface aligned to the right of the target at address, or to the right of its path at impact. Can lead to a shot going to the right of the target.
Aided by the open face at impact, the ball starts in the general direction of the target and then spins to the right-welcome to the Flare.
What this drill will do is allow you to get the club closed at impact because halfway between having an open face on the backswing to having a closed face on the follow through, you’ll find that your club is square at the moment of impact.
Ensure you don't turn your left wrist out(left to right turn for right handers)This is most important as an open face(refer page 4 post) will guarantee a slice everytime. Try to keep left arm fairly straight on backswing.
On the other hand, if you have an open face at the top of your swing, which is a great probability if you are a slicer, then a good thought is to feel as though you are serving cocktails with your right hand (or busing tables).
