I hope that it wasn't a PGA Golf Professional. The best advise is to ask the instructor about his/her background. Don't be afraid to ask questions about their teaching history, i.e., how many lessons they give.

When Tiger Woods first joined the PGA tour, I hated to see him win tournaments because his backswing was terrible for someone who could play so well.

Jim McLean, one of the PGA' s best teachers, calls shoulder turn the "X" factor. He took scientific measurements of many long hitters and found that they all have a greater shoulder than hip turn.

A typical male PGA Tour player has an initial ball velocity of approximately 160 MPH with his driver.

Taking a lesson from a PGA pro is the best way to learn golf. Find a pro who has a good reputation working with golfers of your skill level and who takes the time to explain things thoroughly.
