bunker Also referred to as a "sand trap". A large pit filled with sand (usually situated in locations where you'll likely end up in them!)
bunt Similar to in baseball, it refers to a short shot.

BUNKER - considered a hazard, a pit of sand on a golf course, varies in size, shape, depth, location, and embankment type.

To hit down on the ball so that it travels a short distance on the ground.

"A pit full of starving bears," as I read in a humorous article some time ago, is only a mental hazard and cannot possibly affect a well hit ball. The most difficult hazard in golf is the desire to swing hard.

They have been tested over time and have helped many struggling golfers see a way out of the pit. Do the drills to completion, then go to the practice range, ONLY THIS TIME WITH A PURPOSE. What purpose? You ask . Do the drills and you will know.

Play the ball in relationship to the bottom of the arc, opposite of the left arm pit. Always have the hands in a position at least even with the ball, not behind it (driver can be an exception).
