A sudden death play-off decided the Boys 13 and under Champion after Jehremy Ryde, 13, of Eston, SK (76-80) tied for first place with Jordan Arndt, 13, of Furdale, SK (78-78). Ryde birdied the first play-off hole to take the title.

1913 - Francis Ouimet, age 20, becomes the first amateur to win the U.S. Open, defeating favorites Harry Vardon and Ted Ray in a play-off.
The first professional international match is played between France and the United States at La Boulie, France.
