This full body release drill will reduce the likelihood of blocking or quitting on your shots. It will help keep you on line and prevent you from throwing the right shoulder out and across the target line ("casting").

One other similarity I didn't mention above is that I've already felt like quitting more than once. I cannot estimate the number of times I've felt like quitting golf since I started playing about 32 years ago.

This results in the player quitting on the shot with an abbreviated followthrough. The key to acceleration, as well as maintaining a consistent rhythm, is matching the length of the swing on both sides of the ball.

This produces a "quitting" motion and the club moves upward toward impact instead of downward. Important: A properly lagging clubhead produces a strong downward thrust which adds distance, trajectory, and consistency.

Still, you have to end on a positive note, so start watching for your quitting point, when you sink two monsters in a row. And if you can't quite get two monsters to drop, well, sink two ten footers and get out of Dodge.

Striking the ball on the toe is not only safer but the slightly off-center hit produces a much softer shot that allows you to swing more aggressively and guard against quitting on the shot.
