Set Up: To position yourself for the address.
Seven Iron: An iron club used for a distance of 125-160 yards for men's clubs. Also known as a mashie-niblick.
Shaft: The part of the club joined to the head frighten.

Set Up
To position yourself for the address. It includes aim, foot and shoulder alignment, grip, ball placement and position.
The rear of the hole or cup in reference to your ball.

set up See stance.
shaft The portion of the golf club between the grip and the clubhead. Can be made of steel or graphite.
shag bag Carrier of many golf balls used for practicing a player's short game.

Set Up : The position that the player assumes when preparing to make a stroke. Example: The set up position is one of the main keys to consistency in golf.

Putts between 4 and 6 feet are ones that we expect to make most of the time.

The Set Up
The proper athletic set up position takes effort. After a long lay off, your body will try to set up in a position that takes very little effort. This means that you may end up in a position that is all hunched over or not athletic.

Your set up posture
Be sure that, at address, you are in the proper posture where you are far enough away from the ball with your feet that you can bow forward from your hips.

Set up so the ball is directly in line with the logo (on the left breast of your shirt). On the backswing, turn far enough so the logo points well behind the ball.

Set up some large brightly coloured buckets on the practice range or in your backyard, (providing the backyard is large enough) and have the children attempt to hit pitch shots into the buckets from 20 to 30 yards away.

Set up with a square stance, with shoulders above hips above feet. Do not stand open to the target line.
The feet should be fairly close to one another, with weight evenly distributed between them.

Set up again perpendicular to the slope.
Swing up the slope in your backswing, and down with the slope with your forward swing.
Ball Above Your Feet
With the ball higher than your feet, a flatter swing is created.

Set up with a slightly wider stance than normal and position the ball slightly back of center. Aim your feet, hips and shoulders squarely, but to the right of the target. Take the club back low and wide along the line of your feet.

1. The set up - taking the square stand - is easy for the basic golf swing technique. Start with teeing the ball higher than you normally do.

To hit a draw: Aim the clubface squarely at the target, but instead of aligning your body parallel to the target, set up a little closed with your feet, knees, hips and shoulders slightly to the right of the target.

When you set up to the golf ball, you want your spine at an angle around 25 to 30 degrees from perpendicular to the ground. You don’t want to be to far upright, and you don’t want to be hunched over either.

The first thing to do at set up is to move the majority of your weight onto the left foot. The ball is played towards the back of the stance, and the hands go ahead of the ball. This is vital if your want to control your shots.

I set up targets on the range that made noises when hit. A dustbin lid worked well. I also acquired some empty glass bottles (this may not pass some risk assessments) and placed them on poles as targets.

Are you still thinking about the drive you sliced on the first hole as you set up to tee off at the second hole? This negative thought pattern will adversely affect your game. How you perceive the situation affects each shot.

Start on hole 1 on the score card, set up some fairway limit boundaries like in between the 150 yard sign and the 100 yard green, or what ever you choose.

To do this, all you have to do is pick out a target and do your normal set up. Once you feel like you are ready, lay a club down at your heels or toes. Then, step back about 10 paces behind the ball to see where you are actually aimed.

Matches by flight- are set up by using formulas for eight, sixteen, Thirty-two, or sixty- four players. If multiple rounds are played, the losing player of the round is flagged as lost match and is dropped from the subsequent rounds of play.

Set up and, imagining you are wearing blinders, stroke the ball toward the hole. Don't look up. Bring the next ball over and stroke it, again without looking up. Do the same with the remaining balls.

As you set up, just align the clubface perpendicular to that spot. Another way is to line up the label on the ball toward the target and then the clubface. Check yourself often as this is an area that requires a great deal of precision.

In a stroke competition, the first hole of the first round is as important as the last hole of the last round, and so the course should not be set up appreciably more difficult for any round - balanced treatment is the aim.
