The short game is defined differently by different teachers, usually based on distance from the hole. The most comprehensive definition is 'any shot within 100 yards of the hole, including putting'.

The simpler your swing is, the more consistent your short game will be. That is why the methods described here involve only the bare essential - hence bottom-line - movements required for success.

The short game is comprised of chipping, pitching, and putting. This is the one area where you'll be able to shave a few strokes, if you devote enough time to it. If you don't agree, just add up the strokes in an average round.
