Snap Hook
A severe hook that usually goes directly left rather than curving from right to left. Also known by the somewhat redundant term "Pull-Hook".
Snowman
An eight on a hole.

Snap Hook: A shot that starts quickly to the left and angles sharply downwards and further to the left generally producing a very short and undesirable result.
Snipe: A ball that is hooked and drops quickly.

For example, Ben Hogan battled a snap hook early in his career. It affected his game so badly that he developed a very weak left-hand grip, a cupped wrist and an open face at the top in order to offset the hook.

You don’t want to get carried away with that, otherwise you’ll be hitting snap hooks. But maybe to start out, that wouldn’t be such a bad thing. A little change of scenery for once might be good.

DUFFER
A slang term for a poor golfer, also called a hacker.

This drops the club inside and down the target line instead of the "inside-out" approach that teachers told slicers to use to quit coming over the top and that we, as athletes, listened to which made us deep "pushers" and "snap hookers".
