Down Swing - Maximum Club Head Velocity
At the top of the back swing, the club and your left arm are at a 90 degree angle. In order to reach your maximum club head velocity, you need to maintain that angle as deep into your down swing as possible.

Swing Weight

This is described as how heavy the club will feel when it is actually swung, rather than the actual physical weight of the club. A swing weight can be altered by the redistribution of weight in either the head or the shaft.

Swing Plane: The imaginary plane on which the clubhead travels during the swing.

Downswing: The down-stroke part of a golfer's swing.
Draw: To induce topspin onto the ball causing in to move from outside to in on your swing. Opposite is Fade.
Drive: A shot from the tee area.

The swing of the hands and arms depends entirely upon a correct basic posture. The correct basic position is the key to success.
1. Stand normally, chest out, with the width between the feet equal to that of your shoulders.

BACK-SWING - when a golfer swings the golf club back from address and up to the top before the golf club starts coming down. The golf swing from take-away at address to being set at the top. Sometimes called backstroke.

Ideal Swing
The club head moves about 100 mph as it contacts the ball. The ball leaves the tee at a speed of about 140 mph with a backspin of 50 to 60 rotations per second.

SWING PLANE:...Lay a golf club, broom, rake, whatever on the imaginary line I talked about above. Now set up and make a slow swing and stop at the 3/4 swing point.

Swinging the club faster seems like a pretty obvious way to increase distance, expecially since many people swing slowly at the ball because they've always been told to "Just Swing Easy".

Swingweight
A club's weight distribution around a fixed fulcrum point. The fulcrum point is typically 14" from the butt of the club. Swingweight is commonly referred to as the relationship between the weight of the grip end of the club and head end.

Term used in match play, meaning that both competitors have won the same number of holes. Neither has the lead.
