In golf, the teeing ground is the area at the beginning of a hole from which the player's first stroke is taken. When referring to the area, the terms "tee" and "teeing ground" are often used interchangeably.

Third, the teeing ground can be uneven due to erosion or to facilitate drainage. Locate a level spot as you approach the tee; it's tough to tell once you're standing over the ball. If you're still unsure at address, stop and re-tee.

Page upon page about the game, the clubs, the teeing ground, the putting green, relief situations - personally, I threw away the rule book about two weeks ago when I discovered that the foot wedge was in fact illegal.
Drive: The first shot on a hole, played from the teeing ground.
Drive-and-Pitch: The type of hole on which the green can be reached with a drive and a pitch. Could also refer to a course where all holes are of this type.
If time permits, or your player requests, walk ahead of his teeing ground so you can see where his shot lands. If your player hits an errant shot, go as soon as possible to the spot where you last saw it.
In a few cases a golfer may hit the ball into the hole from the teeing ground. This is called a hole-in-one.
So if you finish a round of golf on par you can think of yourself as a very good player.
