Touch. Touch is distance control on different greens, so it starts with recognizing green speed. Once green speed is recognized, touch depends on a stable tempo and precise targeting for distance and uphill / downhill effects.

 


touch-- Feel and accuracy for hitting golf shots.
touch shot-- A type of golf shot that requires great feel and accuracy.
tour-- The series of professional golf tournaments.

Touch: Accuracy, especially in putting.
Touch Shot: A very delicately hit shot.
Tour: A series of tournaments for professionals.

Touch: A player's sense of feel, generally around the greens. (Ben Crenshaw has always had great touch).
Trajectory: The height and angle the ball travels when struck. (Great players are able to control the trajectory of their shots).

Touch : Sensitivity for playing golf shots. Especially short shots. Example: Daniel displayed great touch around the greens all summer.
Tournament : An organized golf competition. Example: She played in her first tournament last Saturday.

Touch and Feel
The problem with most players is that they focus too much on mechanics and contact and not enough on how much energy is needed to produce the correct distance. That's putting touch.

To touch the head of the club to the ground behind the ball at address.
Ground Under Repair
Any part of the course being repaired is ground under repair. A ball that lands in such an area must be removed without penalty.

Use the Core Putt to Tune in Your Touch Timing: Now take a putt to a hole that is at a distance within the length of your core putt. If your core putts all go 11 feet, set up a level 10 foot putt.

If your ball lies in a bunker or a water hazard don't touch the ground in the bunker, or the ground or water in the water hazard, before your downswing.
