Good Grip Leads to Good Wrist Action

Closed Grip: Generally referred to as a strong grip because both hands are turned away from the target. (PGA Tour pro Ed Fiori was nicknamed "Grip" because of his closed grip).
Each year I have only become more and more convinced of its advantages. Vardon was on his famous tour of the United States that year and photographs of his grip were published in the golf magazines, and that is where I first saw it.
Wide sole designs also help prevent digging, or "fat" shots. Conversely, some "tour-level" clubs feature a narrow sole design that is preferred by better players because it allows more control over shot trajectory.
The examination is brought up to date and changed annually. Although important in the training process, the exam is NOT the primary variable for an invitation to officiate PGA of America, USGA, PGA Tour, or LPGA events.
