Trouble shots might be a hot topic of conversation after the round, but they are less popular at the practice range. There are several reasons why we don't practice trouble shots. First of all, we never expect to have to play a trouble shot.

Trouble forces me to stretch my shotmaking skills, and that's part of the fun of playing aggressive golf. Besides, when I'm in a tough spot in a tournament, it's sort of fun to have the spectators gather round and speculate on how I'm going to escape.

trouble shot-- A golf shot hit from a precarious position such as from high rough, a deep sand trap, or behind a tree.
turn-- The start of the second 9 hole portion of an 18 hole golf course.

Trouble Shot: A shot taken from a bad lie such as behind trees or in bunkers or rough.
Turn: The halfway point of an 18 hole round. A player "makes the turn" after playing #9 and heading to #10 tee.
Twist: Same as torque.

Trouble Shot: Having to play a ball that is in deep rough, behind an object (such as a bush or tree) or from a bad lie.
Turn: The midway point on a golf course, the end of the 9th hole.

Trouble Shot : A shot from a troublesome situation. Example: She hit a great trouble shot and saved par.

Trouble with Long Irons?
You hit your short and mid irons very well, but the long irons let you down. A key swingthought that works for many people is to imagine hitting your 8-iron while you are actually swinging a 3 or 4 iron.

Trouble Club
A category of clubs that is utilized to extricate the ball from a difficult lie.

The trouble with these older players is never lack of care, because they are a painstaking lot, but a lack of understanding of the principles of the stroke.

The trouble is, there is a range of possible speeds that can get the job done. With different speeds, the curve the breaking ball will follow is different.

Without help even the best golfers can have trouble recognizing this. You must constantly check your alignment to be consistent. Poor alignment is a major problem for golfers who slice. Align the clubface squarely then align your body.

bail out: You hit the shot, for example, well to the right to avoid trouble on the left.
balata: Sap from the tropical tree, used to make covers for balls.
ball at rest: The ball isn't moving.

One good point here is to always aim away from trouble on the course whenever possible. If there is trouble on the right, tee on the right side of the teeing area. Do the opposite if the trouble is on the left.

Should I, or the media mogul concerned, sometime in the future find myself troubled with some aspects of that constitution; I have to make a choice. On the one hand, I can resign and find myself a club with a less troubling constitution.

Other people have found benefit in the "game improvement" irons, and have switched out some trouble clubs in their bag and replaced just a couple single golf clubs in their bag instead of the entire set.

Course management has different meanings to different people. In its basic form, it means getting your golf ball around the golf course in the least amount of shots.

But you can choose for one or more additional wedges - with much more loft and significant names: trouble wedges. Wedges actually are specialized irons with blade club head forms, and high loft for high ball flights but less distance.

Many higher handicap golfers have trouble with the concept, because constant acceleration is needed to ensure a lagging club head through impact, and they do not normally accelerate through the ball, but quit at the ball at impact.

Wedges: Golfers often reach for a wedge to get them out of trouble after a bad approach shot. Clubmakers now have specialized wedges to cover just about every dire situation.
