How to Turn Bunker Play into a Day at the Beach
Face it: Everyone has to dig themselves out of the sand sooner or later. Fortunately, there are simple, reliable techniques for blasting out of bunkers.
The Power Turn
Hold a club behind your back. Bend forward with knees bent into an address position. Start a backswing motion. Turn in a 90 degree angle and then right.
This is a hip turn drill that has worked for me. I call it the Hitman Drill because it reminds me of a hip movement done by Chuck "The Hitman" Hiter, the golf trick shot artist regularly featured on The Golf Channel.

What is the one thing everyone could do during their golf swing to improve his or her ball striking, direction and distance?
Make a good shoulder turn.
Turn: The halfway point of an 18 hole round. A player "makes the turn" after playing #9 and heading to #10 tee.

Turn Drill:
Try taking a 7-iron, put your feet right together. Keep your feet hips and shoulders parallel to your target. Keep your weight back behind the balls of your feet. Now try to swing at the ball.
Turn the shot around. Imagine you are trying to drive back to the tee from the middle of the fairway. You would have to have a much sharper focus.

TURN - to start the back nine holes. To "make the turn" means you have finished the 1st nine holes and are "turning" to the 2nd nine.
UNDERCLUBBING - using a club that does not provide enough distance to hit the ball to the intended target.

The halfway point of an 18-hole round that's made as a player completes the number nine hole and heads to the number ten tee.
1) Turn both hands until you can see the first and second knuckle on the left hand.
2) Vs of both hands (marked by the arrow) point to the rear shoulder.
3) The handle is positioned under the heel pad of the target side hand and not in the palm.
The turn is not stopped when position 8 is reached, but is continued to the end of the stroke.
Now turn the image of the person making the movement into you. Here is where we get really creative. As you look at this one perspective I want you to shift this image into a clear plastic globe, like the ones in which hamsters play.
Only turn your shoulders and waist in a golf swing, do not move your feet, except for raising the heel of your back foot during your follow through. Always stretch before swinging a golf club and never make a motion that is painful.
HEAD-TURN TO CHECK ALIGNMENT OF THE PUTTERFACE. Setting the eye line to the puttline allows you to use a side-on head turn that moves the line of sight in a straight line along the ground straight away from the putterface.

Enough Body Turn is Essential
There is only one way to generate the speed you need for power and that is by having the proper stance before you even attempt to swing the club.
John Daly can turn his shoulders back more than 90 degrees. Because of this superhuman shoulder rotation, his swing appears longer than others. You should have a backswing coil of 90 degrees.

High Speed Turn - The characteristic of a disc to curve to the right at the beginning of its flight when thrown hard.

Everybody gets his or her turn to shine. Try to remain quiet and out of the golfer's view, including your shadow that may hinder the golfer's concentration at address.

If you are someone who starts the ball out to the right of your target, you have to learn to turn your hips and body more as opposed to moving laterally.

The disc(for right-hand backhand) naturally wants to turn right at high speeds and will eventually try to slowly fade left during the end of the flight as it slows down.
Be ready to play when it is your turn
Do not leave your golf bag at the front of the green; always leave it at the side of the green in the direction of the next tee
Try to hole out short putts, unless you will be standing on another player's line.
When the golfer tries to hit a ball his or her normal distance, they unconsciously add shoulder turn to the backswing motion.
With your feet together, continue your backswing motion with a full shoulder turn and your left arm comfortably extended as you rotate your arms, hands and club around you (to the top of your backswing).
It's the place you can turn three shots into two. For any player, it's the key to being a scorer.

Just make a full shoulder turn and a good wrist cock then return the club from where it came from! When I say swing easy I do not mean decelerate on the downswing.
