Whippy: A shaft more flexible than normal.
Wind Cheater: A shot that flies low into the wind in an effort to achieve less wind resistance and greater distance.

whippy-- A club with a flexible shaft.
winter rules-- Local rules typically in effect when the course is not in prime condition that may allow a golfer to improve his/her lie.

Whippy: A shaft with greater than normal flex.
White Stakes: Usually marks out of bounds. White stakes are more punitive than either yellow or red stakes. See Out Of Bounds.

Contrary to popular belief good quality graphite is not more "whippy" than its steel counterpart of the same flex. The difference is that graphite is about 30% lighter than steel, which may or may not suit a particular player.

I have found from my own experience that I get an equally long ball with a "whippy" shaft and with a stiff one.

My clubs were fitted with a regular graphite shaft that proved too whippy for me, resulting in more high hooks than any other shot.

I have tried regular flex but they too whippy and accuracy suffers. The stiff flex have a bad feel my distance suffers.
I would like to purchase a name driver but none seem to have the intermediate flex shaft. Any suggestions?

1. Select your driver or other wood.
2. Turn it upside down so you're holding its hosel. This lightens the club and makes it 'whippy.'
3. Make a normal swing and concentrate on making a 'swoosh' sound close to the 'impact zone.' ...

This is particularly true if you have a hooking problem. The stiffer shaft does not whip through and close the clubface as easily as a whippy shaft does, so in effect you can swing more aggressively.
