Square The Clubface And Hit It Straight!
As most of us know, the slice is probably the most common fault in all of golf, particularly for the recreational player.

The Scoring Zone is where average golfers can dramatically improve their scores. The difference between a long birdie putt and a short tap-in is in playing the right kind of shot from within 100 yards of the green.

Ever looked at one of your playing buddies and said, "boy ! you are in the zone"?

"using" the hands thru impact -- means CHANGING the path of the stroke and/or the face angle of the putter, while the putter head in physics is doing all it can despite you to go straight and square thru the impact zone.

At this point now, our hips are clearing through the hitting zone and our torso is opening up, your weight is still behind the ball as well as your head. Don’t move your head and upper body in front of the ball with your hips, keep them back.

after about 3 or 4 balls you will find youre comfort zone. do not think of any thing else but youre finish. nothing else. i mean nothing else. because aparntly you know how to hit it hard. now you hve to hit it straight.

The ball could be over the green, to the side or short, but you ARE in the "chipping zone". A low, running shot that stops even with the cup (if not in!) should be visualized. The key is your set-up position.

Similarly, amateur golfers are allowed a buffer zone to protect their handicap on "off-days". For Div 1 this is 1 stroke, for Div 2 this is 2 strokes, etc.

To make a straight stroke it helps to know how your body transmits forces into your hands without you being aware of it.

Position of hands at and through the impact zone: Rotate you hands through the impact zone (this will help with distance and power generation as well)

Bail Out Area: A particular zone adjacent to the green where errant shots are not as severely punished as other zones around the green. In the bail out area, recovery shots are made more easily.

I said that the impact zone of the swing was the APEX. Now I want you to think in terms of a LONG SWING APEX. That is a STRAIGHT SUSTAINED CONTACT WITH THE BALL THROUGH IMPACT.....ALONG THE INTENDED LINE OF FLIGHT.

You will see that putting from the right zone will be easier.
It's easier to reduce your handicap by chipping into the right area.
The Chip Shot
The main problem amateur golfers face is playing the chip and run shot.

Toe Down Effect: Flexing of the shaft in the downswing due to centrifugal force acting on the clubhead. The clubhead gets lower and nearer to the golfer in the impact zone.

Carry distance is the distance a golf ball travels in the air and is measured using a grid system with markers in the landing zone. Total distance is the distance a golf ball travels in the air plus the roll distance.

FLUFFY LIE - when the golf ball is sitting on top of high fluffy grass and there is concern that if the golf club is swung too low the club head might go under the golf ball through the impact zone.

For amateur players who don't have the same consistency or distance control as pros, I recommend this three-yardage approach. For each hole on your home course, it pays to know not only the pinpoint yardage but the depth of the safety zone as well.
