Awning windows provide light and breeze in your home and allow ventilation. They open outward from the bottom. Screens for this type of window are set on the inside rather than the outside which means dirt can fall into your room.

Awning windows are designed to be placed high on walls. They give light and facilitate circulation of air when positioned properly. They are especially useful for bedrooms where the competing claims of privacy and light need to be considered.

4) Awning windows
An awning window generally swings outward like a casement window, but is hinged at the top. Many times it is combined with a fixed window (Fig. 4).
