Baffles - Device to help achieve a ventilation space between insulation and roof sheathing. It helps assure air flow from the eave vents in attics and cathedral ceilings.
Ballast - A transformer that steps up the voltage in a florescent lamp.

Add the Baffles
Add strips of insulation board to the sides of the panel. On this panel, I used 3/4" insulation board.

The baffles create a channel for cooler air to circulate up from the soffit vents along the underside of the roof in the winter, which equalizes temperatures along the whole roof.

Hanging artwork baffles many home decorators. How high should a picture be hung on the wall, what color should the matting be, and how can you decide what goes where? Find answers here, in 14 pages of illustrated quick tips on hanging art.

While the tank is being pumped out make sure the operator inspects both baffles of the tank (as required by the Connecticut State Health Regulations). If either baffle is broken, have it repaired immediately.

It will not help at depressions, baffles, and at most welds, or with horizontal heat exchangers. Basing firm conclusions on observations with a mirror is cautioned.

There are a pair of baffles in the tank to keep the solids in the tank, preventing them from flowing out of the tank with the liquids. Now, there are some solids that sink.. and some that float.

The system is simple: the plumbing fixtures drain into the septic tank, which is a fancy holding tank with baffles (separating walls) to prevent things like floating solids (use your imagination) from easily exiting the outlet pipe.

Peel and stick acoustic baffles or panels can be attached to the inside of the door, or a door can be lined with foam or even egg crates to cut down on sound pollution.

House Insulation Term Baffles are used to allow air to flow from the eave of the house into
the attic and out the roof vents. The baffles are attached the bottom of the roof decking
between the rafters.

Structural features such as overhangs, baffles, and summer shading to eliminate summer overheating.

COOLING TOWER - A large device mounted on roofs, consisting of many baffles over which water is pumped in order to reduce its temperature.
COPING - A construction unit placed at the top of the parapet wall to serve as a cover for the wall.

To allow for airflow, I bought baffles which attach to the bottom of the roof so that if insulation comes in contact with the bottom of the roof air can still pass through.

If installing loose fill insulation install baffles at the outside edges of the floor joists to protect the vent openings (Figure 4).

The pipe going through the dam should have corrugations in it or some baffles on it to prevent possible flow of water along the outside of the pipe.

Otherwise, the insulation will block the air flow and your soffit vents will be useless.
