Barge boards - Decorative boards mounted under the roofing at a gable end - traditionally timber, nowadays usually uPVC. They may be mounted flash on the end wall or stood off on an overhanging framework with a soffit underneath.

A 2×4 that is used to support gable fascia. The gable soffit is also nailed to this.

Batt A type of insulation designed to be installed between framing members.

Barge Rafter Barge Rafters are the outermost rafters on the end of a gabled roof. These are normally held up by what are called 'lookouts' or 'strong arms' and are considered the sub-fascia on the gabled end of the house.
