Bond breaker: A material used to prevent adhesion between two surfaces.

Check the poly at brick ledge, at corners, and under columns has been tucked under 1/4-inch to leave a clean edge (brick mortar should not bond to slab). Any exposed poly shall be cut away.

Priming helps the new material bond to the old. Then apply the cold-patch material, patting it down occasionally with a shovel or trowel to help compact it and prevent air pockets from forming (see image).

Create a ledge for the patch to make a stronger bond with the old concrete (Photos 9 and 10). Don't be afraid to make the cutout well beyond the edges of the original damaged area. Smaller patches simply won't hold as well as larger ones.
