A clerestory is a part of a structure which rises above surrounding an adjoining roofs, allowing light inside the building through copious large windows.

Clerestory windows are horizontal bands that are placed high within a space. Often they are located beneath the peak of a roof or where different roof planes join.

Trim, Clerestory Windows and Siding
