Use Conduit If the Wiring Must Be Exposed
You may decide that it will simply cost too much to build up walls for wiring or perhaps to tear out an existing basement ceiling to gain access to the joists above.

A conduit facilitates the routing of cables and wires. The challenge is bending the conduit in the right place and at the right angle.

Wire fill inside conduit must never exceed the specified amount to prevent overheating of the wires inside the conduit.

Conduit- A tube or duct for enclosing electric wires or other cables.
Cornice - This refers to the overhang of a roof. Most homes have about 12 inches overhang to allow rainwater to fall away from the exterior wall.

If the conduit used in underground wiring does not connect to a grounded box, cable with a grounding conductor must be used.
Every outdoor lamp part exposed to the touch must also be grounded.

The PVC conduit that we used is RNC (Rigid Nonmetallic Conduit). This type of conduit can be buried. It's not to be confused with ENT (Electrical Nonmetallic Tubing), which is not rated for burial.

Rigid Metal Conduit
This conduit resembles plumbing pipe, protecting wires from damage.
Rise
In stairs, the vertical height of a step or flight of stairs.

Half-inch PVC conduit requires a 7/8" to 1" diameter hole. Drilling that size of hole in vinyl soffit could be done (carefully) with a spade bit.

The 1 and 1/2" conduit will run into where the little white piece of wood is. From there all these services will go through a whole house grounding unit that connects to the fuse box.

Flexible Metal Conduit
Conduit similar to armored cable in appearance but does not have the pre-inserted conductors.

Electrical System Basics Electricity is supplied by a local utility to a house through three underground or overhead wires (two "hot" leads and one neutral lead) that enter the house through a conduit and a meter.

The 1-inch metal conduit had served as the ribbing for a Quonset-style greenhouse until it was replaced by a larger structure.

Well by using plastic conduit like this you can conceal it and end up with an installation that’s very clean and professional looking. Measure each section of conduit and then cut it to length with a utility knife.

Concrete pipe serves as a conduit material for irrigation, water supply lines, sanitary sewers, culverts, and storm drains. Culverts, usually made with arch-shaped concrete, are used to carry water under highways in non-urban areas.

For example, the hook-up between the outdoor and indoor units generally requires only a three inch (~8 centimeter [cm]) hole through a wall for the conduit.

While 3/4″ metal pipe or thick wall conduit, make a strong closet rod that won't sag, it's not very attractive to look at. To improve the looks, cut a piece of 1″ diameter thin wall PVC pipe (SDR) to the length needed.

The P-trap serves as the conduit for the drain, but also serves another important purpose. The curved portion holds water and forms a barrier that keeps sewer and drain fumes from surfacing.

This creates a network of conduits or access runs for the electrician. The process involves a small amount of extra wire, but is about the same as any other electrical wiring job in residential construction.

Logs are the third easiest, hollow walls are non-existent and once a conduit is in place there is little room for error or change. Concrete is the most difficult.

The pipe is simply a high-speed conduit that acts like an underground river in times of heavy rainfall. You install 2 inches of gravel on the bottom of the trench then the pipe.
