What is the difference between a couch and a sofa, anyway? Nothing! In the real world, the terms are used interchangeably, there’s no style difference nor a structural difference.

A couch is an item of furniture designed to seat more than one person and providing support for the back and arms. Typically, it will have an armrest on either side.
