Counterflashing
The flashing which is imbedded at its top in a wall or other vertical structure and is lapped down over shingle flashing.

Counterflashing
Substance or material used at the top of a chimney at the roof to inhibit the development of moisture and to protect the metal with one end embedded in the masonry and the other edge overlapping the roof flashing.

Counterflashing: formed metal or elastomeric sheeting secured on or into a wall, curb, pipe, rooftop unit or other surface, to cover and protect the upper edge of a base flashing and its associated fasteners.
