During the electrical rough-in, I ran an ordinary 12 gauge cable to a 4" square metal box for the thermostat. Easy Heat supplies a roll of string to use as a "wire fishing aid".

Walls must be straight and there must be support in the form of a stud behind all drywall joints, if you have drywall joints that do not have studs behind them the wall will flex.
Once the plumbing and electrical rough-ins begin, it's a little harder to change things. For example, if you move a sink or the dishwasher, the plumbers have to re-route the drain and water lines.
This is when you will install the preliminary equipment needed for the HVAC (heating, venting, and air conditioning) system, the electrical rough-in for plugs, switches, etc; and also the plumbing top-out phase.
