DAP Caulk. You can repair a torn dishwasher gasket (the rubber lining around the inside of the door) by simply filling the tear with DAP Caulk and allowing it to dry.

New plastic pipes tie into cast iron with heavy rubber gaskets and banded clamps. Slip the gaskets and clamps over each cut end (Fig. 3).

Newer ovens have additional insulation and tighter-fitting oven door gaskets and hinges to save energy. These include self-cleaning models which use less energy for normal cooking because of higher insulation levels.
