For example, in Florida you might call one a lanai or a lanai enclosure. If you've never seen a Florida lanai, they are something to behold.
This is as common in Florida homes as the Lanai is (Lanai is another name for the back patio or pool deck).
Both names describe the quintessential home space in a sun-drenched state...the living areas off the main rooms.
