Low-tac - A term used to describe types of masking tape that have a low level of adhesion so that they can be removed without damaging the surface.

Make good - To prepare a surface for decorating by filling in holes, smoothing etc.

 


Use low-tack painter's tape to mask off the wall around the pre-stained mounting strip. Add some stain to the polyurethane and apply a second coat to match the existing stair railing. Remove the painter's tape.

Press back together and apply masking tape or low-tack painter's tape at 6 inch intervals to hold laminate in place as the GOOP dries. GOOP dries through solvent evaporation, so drying is slow between two nonporous surfaces.

Painter's tape can help organize all the small pieces; separate the parts for each side of the door and place each section of parts on a strip of tape. When needed, each piece is easily found, and due to the low-tack feature of the tape, ...
