Party wall: A wall shared between two buildings. Laws have existed for many years, particularly in London but now throughout the UK, for governing the building, alteration and maintenance of party walls.

Party Wall - A wall or fence that straddles the legal boundary of two or more properties. Each side of the party wall is the responsibility of the property on that side of the wall to maintain unless agreements are made otherwise.

The problem was further complicated by the fact that the foam was often used somewhat inappropriately in walls of solid masonry houses, in attics, in cavities where freeze-up of pipes had occurred, and even as an acoustical insulation in party walls ...
