Faceplate turning
In faceplate turning, a chunk of wood, called a blank, is mounted on a plate or chuck, and attached to the headstock of a lathe, most commonly with the direction of the grain running perpendicular to the lathe bed.

Fishplate - A wood or plywood piece used to fasten the ends of two members together at a butt joint with nails or bolts. Sometimes used at the junction of opposite rafters near the ridge line.

Turn off electricity. Remember you are using water. Smooth strip gently over the fitting. Pierce paper at the center of fitting and make diagonal cuts toward each corner. Press paper around edge.

Bottom Plate- The lowest horizontal member of a wall which rests on the rough floor, to which the studding is nailed.
Brick veneer- A vertical facing of brick laid against and fastened to sheathing of a framed wall.
