Radiant Barrier Insulation in Your Residential Attic
The most common application in a residence is in the attic. The attic is where you loose most heat in the winter, and often the most economical way to add insulation.

 


Radiant Barriers
Radiant barriers are installed in homes—most commonly in attics—to reduce summer heat gain and winter heat loss, which helps lower heating and cooling costs.

Radiant Barrier: Aluminum foil installed over the air conditioned living area of the home between the interior ceiling and the roof of the home. It is typically stapled to the undersides of the sloped roof trusses. Each piece is taped and sealed.

Radiant Barrier System - A Radiant Barrier System (RBS) is a building section that includes a radiant barrier facing an air space.

Reflectix is a radiant barrier wrap designed to insulate against heat loss. Unlike traditional fiberglass insulation, Reflectix is made up of foil faces on the outside that hold bubble pack between layers of polyethylene for stability.
