How It Works
Ridge vents are also excellent in that there will be no holes in your roof for turbines or other ventilation methods. This makes for a nice, smooth continuous roof, which can be quite striking.

A ridge cap is a building material that is installed along the ridge line of a sloped roof. A traditional gabled roof on a home is made up of two sloped sides that meet in the middle.

The ridges of slate and tiled roofs are normally covered by ridge tiles in the same or a contrasting colour. Two types are commonly used, half round or angular - angular ridge tiles are usually used for slate roofs.

Scrape a Ridge in Textured Ceilings

Ridge tile: A curved tile which covers the ridge on a pitched roof.

Ridge Vents
Ridge vents are important to roofs for at least three reasons. First, ridge vents help lower the temperature in the roof structure and, consequently, in the attic and in the habitable space below.

Ridge: The intersection of two roof planes, or the angle formed by them.
Ridge shingles: Shingles used to cover the horizontal external angle formed by the intersection of two sloping roof planes.

Cartridge or washerless faucets - There are no washers or seals for the off/on action but only hollow, plastic-and-brass cartridges. These do not wear out fast and are most preferred.

Ridge Tail, and Seat Cuts
If you do the pure math to figure out rafter length, you will always be a little long. Why? Just about everyone uses a ridge board. You need to shorten the rafter for half the thickness of the ridge.

debridge--the process of cutting away the metal on the bottom of an aluminum thermal break cavity once the two-part polyurethane has reached full strength, thus creating a thermally broken extrusion.

The ridge will need a couple of layers because it needs to be strong under the ridge roll. Try not to tear the paper in any area. Remember, that is the last water barrier if the water gets in under the shingles or metal.

Cartridge-type stem faucets may have a spring and a rubber washer. To replace these, lift the cartridge out of the faucet body and remove the washer and spring.

The ridges of a roof also need extra protection from moisture. Although many manufacturers provide special ridge shingles, roofers often cut the tabs off three-tab shingles and use them to cover the ridge.

Cartridge faucets have only one moving part. The stem slides up and down to open and close the faucet and rotates to regulate the flow of hot and cold water. Any leaking requires replacement of the cartridge.

Ink Cartridge Stains on Carpet: If it's powdery, vacuum first, holding the nozzle above the stain. (Touching the fiber might further grind in the ink.) Then apply a spot remover or carpet cleaner with foaming action to lift the ink.

Cut the ridge vent's hole.. shingle the new roof up to it, and then install the ridge vent on top of the hole. You are right, it is foolish to shingle all the way up and then cut the hole.
