Grid-tie solar powered farm

Most of my past articles described solar systems that included a battery or batteries to store the collected solar energy.

Curtain tie backs are the ties that are installed with curtains, gathering the sides of the curtains together to let the sunlight in. They're held by a hook or holder that's mounted on the wall a short distance from the curtain.

Tie-In: In roofing, a term used to describe the joining of a new roof with the old.

Brick tie " Metal strips or wires that are inserted into the mortar joints of the brick veneer. Ties hold the veneer wall to the backer wall behind it.

Brick tie- A small, corrugated metal strip @ 1" X 6"- 8" long nailed to wall sheeting or studs. They are inserted into the grout mortar joint of the veneer brick, and holds the veneer wall to the sheeted wall behind it.

Column: In architecture: A perpendicular supporting member, circular or rectangular in section, usually consisting of a base, shaft, and capital.

Cut the tie wire. If necessary, add concrete to any visible pockets and smooth the countertop's bottom with a screed or trowel. Cut the tie wire just below the surface of the concrete to release it from the table.

A rigid form of a tie back is a hold back. The hold back is attached to the wall. You gather your curtain into the hold back and it does just what it says: It holds back your draperies.
