Water Trap
This is a simple trap that can be constructed at home with normal household ingredients. Simply take a dish of water and mix some molasses or vanilla extract and a little lemon juice.

The trap described here is simple to make. As with many of my workshop projects, I just used what I had available to do the job. You may wish to adjust the size of the trap you make to fit the target animal you are trying to catch.

­Drain trap assemblies have several parts. The short piece of pipe that extends downward from the drain outlet flange in the sink or lavatory is called the tailpiece. The curved section of pipe connected to the tailpiece is the trap itself.

Trap Seal: The height of water in a toilet bowl "at rest, it provides a water seal which prevents sewer gases from entering the home. Trap seal is measured from the top of the dam, down to the inlet of the trap-way. Also referred to as deep seal.

Trap-A fitting or device that provides a liquid seal to prevent the emission of sewer gases without materially affecting the flow of sewage or wastewater through it.

TRAP: A water filled "U" shaped pipe which prevents sewer gases from flowing into a building.

TRAP - Usually a 4" diameter cast-iron pipe, called the house trap, with a U bend which acts as a seal as water passes through it. It prevents sewer gases from entering into a house.

The trap bends back up to prevent sewer odors and fumes from coming back up through the drain. When you turn off your sink, there is a certain amount of water that remains sitting in the trap.

The P-trap serves as the conduit for the drain, but also serves another important purpose. The curved portion holds water and forms a barrier that keeps sewer and drain fumes from surfacing.

16. Put in trap for sink, bath, or washer.
17. Put final 3-inch reducing T into main waste stack. Reducer can be 1 ½ for vent.
18. Main waste stack continues up through the roof for proper vent-plumbing.

If the lint trap wasn't the problem, look behind the dryer and check that the vent hose is securely connected to the dryer and the exterior vent. Also check that the hose is not bent or kinked and causing a blockage.

Green roofs trap moisture on the roof - which initially sounds like a negative feature considering the aim is to keep pools of water off flat roofs - but keeps the water up in the soil and plants rather than letting it pool on the membrane surface.

Choosing a Trap
Some traps that claim to be squirrel traps are too small for gray squirrels.

Remove the P-trap under the sink. Use a large slip-joint pliers for metal nuts; you can often hand-loosen plastic nuts. Put a bucket under the trap to catch water and perhaps other goop. Check the P-trap for obstructions and clean it.

Another alternative trap is the NOOSKI, made in New Zealand. As a mouse enters the trap, it must stick its head through a rubber ring-which instantly contracts and suffocates the little bugger.

Reinstalling this P-trap is about the last thing I’m going to have to do before I test for leaks. Now if the drain fittings had been old or worn, I would have taken this opportunity to replace them.

Wipe down counters regularly with a bleach or vinegar solution, seal food in airtight containers and keep the drain trap in your sink free of food particles.

The optimum air supply across the firing line is 75 FPM with a minimum acceptable airflow of 50 FPM with airflow maintained at 2-30 FPM at a point halfway between the firing line and the bullet trap.

Though dryers all have a lint trap of some kind built into them, these traps catch most of , but not all, of the lint. The lint that slips by can be both messy and irritating to some people.

This undesirable installation method may also trap moisture in fiber insulation during cold weather. A radiant barrier installed on the cold side of the insulation acts as a vapor barrier in the wrong location.

If the chemical, the plunger, or the hot water treatments do not open the clogged drain, you'll need to remove the trap located under the tub.
