While some people may elect to take wainscoting on as a DIY project, there are several challenging elements for proper installation. First, most likely your floor isn't plumb and isn't at an exact right angle to the wall.

Installing wainscoting beadboard is a fast and inexpensive way to dress up a bathroom, laundry room, or mudroom. It requires relatively few tools and almost no building expertise.

Wainscoting is the wooden-slatted sections that can be added to the lower parts of walls to create texture. Wainscoted sections typically reach almost half way up a wall, with the edge being a crown molding topper called a chair rail.

He sourced distressed mirrors and vintage faucets and installed wainscoting in the dining room. One of the few original details worth keeping was a small portion of a cornice and elaborate paneling in the living room.
