The American Cream, also known as the Albino, originated in Nebraska in 1937 and can be credited to the efforts of two men named Caleb and Hudson Thompson.

After 1963, this line has been known as The American White Horse. It is not to be confused with the American Cream which is a cream colored draft horse. Though this breed was also founded in the United States their histories are entirely different.
