The Anglo-Kabarda is a unique breed established in Caucasus, formerly a part of the Soviet Union, when an English stallion was crossed with a Russian mare. Despite its large size, the Anglo-Karbarda is capable of navigating mountainous terrain.

The Anglo-Kabarda is a cross between Thoroughbred and Kabarda bloodlines. To be registered they must be no less than 25% and no more than 75% Thoroughbred blood.

Anglo-Kabarda horses are well suited to the climate of the Caucasus, thriving at pasture the year round and are able to negotiate difficult mountain terrain skillfully.

The Anglo-Kabarda originated in the northern regions of Caucasus in Russia. The Anglo-Kabarda is a cross of Kabarda mares with Thoroughbred stallions. The Stallions that were of greatest importance to the breed were Lestorik, Lukki and Lok-Sen.
