Blinkers : a pair of leather eye-shields fixed to the bridle or head to prevent the horse from looking anywhere other than in front of it. Bridle : a part of a horse's saddlery or harness, which is placed about the head.
blinkers - A cup-shaped device to limit a horse's vision to prevent him from swerving from objects or other horses on either side of it.
These include blinders (or Blinkers), used on most harnesses to prevent the horse from being distracted by the cart and other activity behind the animal. Harness racing horses usually have an added shadow roll on the noseband of the bridle.
