Bashkir Curly Horse
An American Curly Horse (aka American Bashkir Curly) is a relatively rare type of horse, whose winter coat is curly.

Small (usually under 14:2) horses from the Bashkir region of the Ural Mountain district of the former USSR. Used for both riding and draft purposes.
The International Curly Horse Organization, a registry based on coat type without regard to the horse's breeding, has over 800 horses registered in its North American Curly Horse Registry (as of Oct. 2006). The ICHO was established in 2000.
Various theories have been proposed to explain the presence of the Curly horse in North America. Some have suggested that they came across the Bering Strait land bridge during the last ice age, but no fossil evidence has been found to support that.
