Finnish Horse
Finnish horse is descended from two closely-related breeds, the Finnish Universal and the Finnish Draught, which have now merged into one. It is also known as Finnhorse. This horse is a native of Finland.

The Finnish horse is a coldblooded type of heavier horse. It was developed from the native Finnish ponies crossed with other breeds. Originally there was both a light and heavy strain, but only the light type still exists today.

Very nearly all Finnish horses have been registered since 1971. There are four breeding sections: J = trotter, R = riding horse, T = draft and P = pony-sized Finnhorse. Some horses are registered in several breeding lines.
