Morgan Gelding
A 23-year-old Morgan gelding (no lab work available) had been slowing down steadily for several years, attributed to old age. This year it was noted he had an abnormally thick and curly coat that did not shed out.

A gelding that thinks they are a stud is one pasture problem. You shouldn't place this type of a horse in with any mares.

Height wise, geldings and mares have to be over 15.2hh to be classed a pedigree, whilst Stallions come in at 17hh at the withers.

For the aged gelding who I had standing in the barn alley, this was a next to impossible stretch for him the first time we tried it.

The Bedouin did not believe in gelding male horses, thus most stallions were sold to city-dwellers. Over time, the Bedouin developed several sub-types, or strains of Arabian horse, each with unique characteristics.

My friend's uncle made me a good deal and I purchased a yearling sorrel gelding now four years old. Just before he turned two, I got my first ride on him after Neil worked with him on the ground for about one hour.

Mare behavior tends to fall between that of geldings and that of stallions. Some horse handlers call the erratic behavior some mares exhibit during estrus "mare-ish" behavior.

If both testicles are not descended, the horse may appear to be a gelding, but will still behave like a stallion.

The cost or value of a Miniature Horse is dictated by many factors, such as age (foal or mature), sex (stallion, mare, gelding), size, conformation, show record, and the extent of its recorded background (bloodline).
